We celebrate 20 years of music and pop culture

Few other brand initiatives have had such a strong impact on music culture over the past 20 years. We take a look behind the scenes – and into a stunning book.

The colleagues have every reason to celebrate. In 20 years, Deutsche Telekom’s international music program has become a must-have for all music fans – with a huge range of digital activities and live events in Europe. In addition to its own podcast series, the crew offers daily features, interviews and concert recordings from pop culture. EB.TV is one of the most famous video magazines in electronic music.

Changing documentaries, artist contributions or tech talks on YouTube and, and, and: Electronic Beats sets the pace. “Over the past two decades, we have boldly led the way withTelekom Electronic Beats. We provided inspiration and set trends,” sums up Ralf Lülsdorf, International Market Communications at Deutsche Telekom.

“We’ve provided ideas and set trends.”

20 years of Electronic Beats, that’s two decades packed with exciting stories, inspiring encounters and grueling challenges. All these experiences are now bundled in a book that is being published in time for the anniversary. Entries by stars such as Billie Eilish, Bryan Ferry and Lars Eidinger trace this path and underscore the social significance of pop culture. They make it obvious how strongly music connects people.

The full blast of beats

Exciting on the inside, stylish on the outside: 304 designed pages wrapped in a natural linen cover make this book a real gem. But of course, the anniversary will also be celebrated electronically. The heart of the digital campaign is the electronicbeats.net/20year site. There we look at an exciting time, move into the now, explore future developments and show multimedia content from the Electronic Beats archive.
A lecture is also planned: On May 19, 2021, author Ji-Hun Kim and photographer Marie Staggat will present the book at Dussmann in Berlin.
